PDS Symbol Generator

Our Symbol Generator offers an automated means to create library symbols. It provides the ability to import pin lists from PDF datasheets, Excel pin lists, alternate library symbols and geometries. Generated symbols may be written to a designated library and/or sent directly to the CAD platform of choice.

The Symbol Generator operates using a configured set of symbol standards (default system settings are used in the event defined standards are not in place). The system includes an interactive set of dialogs that may be used to define standards for different classes of symbols such as connectors, discretes, and digital ICs.

The Symbol Generator also provides a means of partitioning block symbols and reallocating pins between multiple views of the symbol. For example, a composite symbol for a Power PC block may be partitioned into sub-views for power/ground, I/O, and data pins. The system enables collections of pins to be transferred between views; additional features permit definition of pin type, side, and other designations.
